FAQ: Off-Campus Access to Electronic Resources

University Libraries license 40,000+ online journals, databases, and other
resources which students, faculty, staff, UNC Hospitals employees, and AHEC
affiliates can access from off-campus locations. Access from UNC Hospitals
locations requires an off-campus login.
How do I access electronic resources?
UNC Students
Most UNC students, including those enrolled in online courses and distance
programs, should use their Onyen login credentials to access electronic
resources. Please visit
Onyen Services
for assistance. Students enrolled in self-paced courses should use their PID
and email address to access electronic resources. Please visit
PID Services
for assistance. If you have a valid Onyen or PID but your login attempts fail,
please contact

UNC Staff & UNC Hospitals Employees
Most UNC staff members, including UNC Hospitals employees, should use their

AHEC Affiliates
AHEC affiliates can access electronic resources using their AHEC login
credentials. If you have valid AHEC login credentials but your login attempts

UNC Borrower's Card Patrons
UNC Borrower's Card patrons can access a selection of electronic resources via
NC LIVE. Please contact the
Davis Library Service Desk
with your borrower's information to obtain your login credentials.
Any electronic resources not covered by
NC LIVE
cannot be accessed by UNC Borrower's Card patrons.
Visitors
Visitors cannot access electronic resources from off-campus locations. Please
contact the

for assistance.
How do I find my login credentials?
Find Your Onyen
UNC uses campus-wide Onyen logins to grant access to various online campus
resources. If you do not know your Onyen, please visit
Onyen Services
for assistance.
Find Your PID
Your PID uniquely identifies you at UNC. If you do not know your PID,
please visit
PID Services
for assistance. If you have your
UNC One Card,
your PID is the number printed on the card.
Find Your AHEC Login
If you need to recover your AHEC login credentials, please complete this
